It was Bhadra kali all the way!

During childhood every Sunday morning my parents used to take us to a temple. It was a ten minutes drive to the temple, after the temple visit we would go to my paternal grand parents’ house before returning home. I used to love those trips. It was a very powerful temple. The famous Malayalam actor had a vow, that if he became successful, he would donate a baby elephant to the temple.

When he tried to do the donation, there was a hue and cry, because he was a Muslim. In the end the matter was resolved and the baby elephant was accepted in the temple. For any challenges in life, I used to call upon the Devi and I used to get solutions.

After marriage I went to North India and whenever on vacation to Kerala, my husband and I used to visit the temple. But now it was an hours’ journey since my parental house was in Trivandrum by then. In Kerala, men had to remove their shirts to enter inside temples. My husband who used to be a totally logical person, used to wait for me outside the temple, instead of taking off his shirt and coming with me inside. Then gradually, these trips came to a stop.

Over the years, slowly my husband turned spiritual (the result of staying with a totally spiritual wife for 3 decades? God only knows). He was getting interested in visiting temples along the length and breadth of India. During our visit to Kerala in April 2013, suddenly I remembered, we are going to all other temples, why not visit my childhood temple?

My husband agreed and we hired a taxi. He asked me which Devi was the idol of that temple. I was surprised that I did not know. I only remembered it was a Devi. We went straight to the temple. There was not too much crowd and we got to sit there and meditate. Devi asked me, ‘Coming after so many years?’

Then I noticed, it was a Bhadra Kali temple. Wow! That made sense. I used to get messages from Kali ma to do Havans, to prepare dishes etc., so it was Bhadra Kali all the way……

When we reached back home, I asked my father whether he knew which Devi was there in the temple. Even he didn’t know! Then I updated his knowledge and gave him the prasadam.

The missing Shivling

My sister once gifted me with a small Shivling made in stone. I put it near the bonsai banyan tree kept in my balcony. Every day morning I pour water over the Shivling, after my bath.

One day when I went out to the balcony with water, to my shock, I found the Shivling missing. I felt really sad and complained to the divine forces. " This is not fair. I am worshipping you daily, moreover, the Shivling has sentimental value for me as it was gifted by my dear sister. How can it disappear like this? You have to bring it back to me."

The balcony is at the back of the house and many times petty thieves jump the compound wall and come into our compound. I was at a loss to understand what they would gain by stealing the Shivling. Any way I continued my prayers.

On the third day when I reached the balcony in the morning, to my utter joy, I found the Shivling near the banyan tree! Till today I cannot find any logical explanation for ths incidence.

The butterfly’s message

Pitru Paksha  also spelt as Pitr paksha or Pitri paksha, (literally "fortnight of the ancestors") is a 16–lunar day period when Hindus pay homage to their ancestors (Pitrs), especially through food offerings. The period is also known as Pitru Pakshya, Pitri Pokkho, Sola Shraddha ("sixteen shraddhas"), Kanagat, Jitiya, Mahalaya Paksha and Apara paksha. Shraddha is the way of thanking your ancestors’ souls and paying a small tribute in exchange of whatever they did for our lives.

Last year, according to the messages I got, I did shraddha and this year also I thought I’ll do, especially since I lost my father and mom-in-law during April/May. Shraddha in 2013 was from 19th September to 4th October. Somehow it slipped from my mind.

On 3rd October when my husband and I came back home from the clinic, he noticed a butterfly sitting quietly on the potted plant in front of the door. He showed it to me. I went near the butterfly, it did not fly off. I gently touched it, thrice. It just stayed put. Then we left it and went inside the house to have lunch.Round the world, butterflies are seen as the departed souls of our ancestors.

Later, suddenly it struck me; I am supposed to do Shraddha. Oh my God, were the dates over? I immediately checked the net and to my relief, saw that October 4th was the last date.  So on the next day morning, I prepared sweets and served on leaves on the terrace. In the afternoon I went up to check and was glad to see that the offering had been accepted!

Kalima’s instructions

Quite a few months back I got instructions from Kalima to start doing havans on Tuesdays and   Fridays. From then on I burn ghee lamps in the morning and do havan in the evenings. Last Saturday (5th October 2013) I got instruction to make a garland with red shoe flower petals for her. Can I tie each petal? No, she told two petals have to be tied together to make the garland.

So on Sunday morning I made the garland and put for her. After breakfast I was trimming the plants in the green house and my husband was standing and watching. Suddenly he told, ‘There is a frog behind you. It is showing its tongue to me.’

I turned around and saw a big frog. It started walking towards me. Its big eyes were fixed on me and then it thrust its tongue fully out of the mouth, twice. It was really a sight! We both laughed and went inside the house.

Later it struck me; Kalima’s picture has her tongue thrust out. The frog was conveying the message that Kalima was happy with my garland. Oh, I was so happy!

Vaishnodevi's message

During our visit to Delhi we decided to visit the Mehrauli mandir and ashram in Jaunapur near Mehrauli. We were staying with a cousin in Gudgaon. She told us that on her way to her work place in Delhi she would drop us to the temple. Next day morning we started with her and she dropped us near Jaunapur and went off. We walked around, searching for the temple, asked many people, but nobody could guide us.

We decided to cancel the plan and instead went for a movie, which we enjoyed. At night we told our cousin of our failed attempt to visit the temple. She told that on the next day her driver would come and he might know it. So on the next day again we set out. Her driver knew about the temple and he dropped us very near to the temple.

It is situated amongst huge real estates and is built in a large area. This temple supports a hospital and two schools. It is also the place where Madrasi baba lived and had his own little temple. We came to know that the temple closes at 12 pm. On the previous day we would not have been able to have darshan even if we found the temple, because it was around 12 pm.

There are many idols in the temple and one of them is considered as Vaishnodevi. My husband and I sat there and meditated. The Devi had a message for me during the meditation. She told me to take a vessel that had been used for her puja and gave specific instructions how it should be used to charge drinking water and to be given to people suffering from different problems.

First I felt delicate to ask the pujari to give me a vessel that was used for Devi’s puja. Then I mustered courage and asked him. He gave me a bowl and I brought it home. It is being used for the purpose that she had instructed me and is really helping people.

Rain God’s response

Last week my husband had gone to the market on scooty. Scooty is easy to manoeuvre in the thick of the market and he prefers it for his market trips. I was busy with my house work and getting things done by the maid who had come home at that time.

It started raining a bit later. I just noticed it and commented to my maid, ‘It is suddenly raining so heavily’. Then it struck me, ‘Oh my God, my husband has gone out and he will get drenched’. I started sending Reiki to protect him from the rain. Immediately the pouring rain slowed down and stopped within a few minutes.

When he reached home, I went out to see how dry his clothes were. Wow! He was totally dry. He commented, ‘You know, it was a real miracle today. As I was riding back home, the rain was just following behind me. I managed to reach back home dry.’

Yes, a miracle! Thank you Reiki.

Authentication of my parallel presence

I have a dentist colleague who is equally interested in alternative therapies and spiritual knowledge. She learned Reiki, she and her family members got past life regression therapy and healings from me on several occasions. She visits me often and we have interesting spiritual discussions.

Recently when she came to meet me, she had a very interesting experience to tell. She saw a TV program on a spiritual person. At an young age, he felt drawn to spirituality and went to the Himalayas, where he was trained by a sage for three years. Then he was instructed to go to the plains and spread the teachings.

He had taken many photographs of the place where he stayed in the Himalayas. His guru did not allow his picture to be taken. My dentist colleague tried to visualize his guru’s face during meditation and to her surprise, she saw my face! She was very excited to impart this information to me.

I was also glad to hear this, since it was a confirmation of what Dr. Newton had told me. There can be parallel existence.

My parallel presence

It was in December 2008 that I went for the past life regression therapists’ course. It was an awesome experience. We got wonderful dedicated teachers in Dr Newton and Dr. Lakshmi. They used to give lectures, then demonstrations. Then it was our turn to do among ourselves whatever was demonstrated to gain the practical experience.

The best part I liked was the morning meditations that Dr. Newton used to conduct for us before starting the class. Soft soothing background music used to be played at a low volume at this time. One day he asked us to go to a past life during the meditation. He made us experience some significant moments of that life time and finally asked to go to the last moment of that life, when the soul left the body.

The past life I saw was the life of a monk. I wore a white dhoti and was meditating in a cave. There was snow outside the cave. Even my body was covered with snow. When Dr. Newton asked me to go to the death moment of that life, I saw that I didn’t die. A little while later, I felt the snow melting on my body, I opened my eyes and went outside the cave. There were my disciples standing outside, they were happy to see me and prostrated.

At that moment, there was disturbance in the music system and the soft music turned to some sort of vibrations for a few minutes. This happened only on that day of our seven day course. After the meditation session I told about my experience to Dr. Newton. He explained to the whole class that when I came out of meditation in that life, there was difference in the energy level and that was what caused the electrical disturbance.

I asked him how is it that my body of that life is still alive. He told it is possible and he named it as ‘physical ascension.’ When people come to me for healing I get guidance as to what medicinal plant or method would help them. Now I understood the source from where I get that guidance!

Jai Kali ma

I perform havan for Kali ma (represents feminine power) on Tuesdays an Fridays at home. A small earthen pot is used for the purpose. I line the bottom of the pot with small pieces of wood from mango tree and put one lit camphor in between the wood pieces. It lights up the woods and then I do the offerings to the fire.

From 14th to 21st of June 2013, I was away to a place where internet was not available. On coming back, I did my havan on 23rd, Tuesday. It took me three camphor pieces to light up the fire. I was confused. Why is the Goddess playing hard to please? Any way, the fire lit up with the three camphor pieces, and after my offerings, there was a huge crackling flame. I was glad with the end result.

On the same night we had a gathering of friends and one of them was telling about the removal of Dhari devi’s idol from her temple in Uttarakhand hours before the cloudburst on 16th June. A manifestation of Goddess Kali, Dhari Devi is guardian deity of Uttarakhand, and is  revered as the protector of the Char Dhams.

That explained the problem I had in getting the fire lit for the havan.

My father’s departure

It was a chance decision to visit Trivandrum during April, 2013. And it so happened that I got to spend seven full days with my father who lived alone, with a lady to look after. Since she took leave for two days, he was entirely my responsibility. We spent all the seven days discussing various spiritual topics. I think I managed to make him realize that we are more than our bodies. We listened to bhajans and had meditation sessions. Little did I realize that it was my last meeting with him.

On May 15th he was admitted to the hospital for a bad infection on his leg. It was responding to the IV antibiotic treatment. On 19th morning, I had a telephonic conversation with him. He was having difficulty in breathing, his voice was hoarse and I could hardly decipher what he was saying. While having lunch he choked and had a cardiac arrest. The doctors tried resuscitation and put him on ventilator.

At around 6pm on 19th, I was sitting on our lawn and when looked up, saw flowers on the sampige tree, which flowered 18 years after planting it (my father’s gift?). I could feel the presence of my mother and sister, who left their bodies in 2008, near my father and felt that his soul left through his throat chakra. He looked peaceful and happy.

On 20th morning I was one hour into my first lecture for the five days course when I got the phone call from Trivandrum that my father passed away. He was removed from the ventilator and declared dead. I had to finish the course and then rush to Trivandrum. The ceremony was conducted on 26th. Looking at his bones was difficult for me. During the last visit he was with me in flesh and blood, and now I got to see his bone pieces!

In the evening while I was putting his photograph to its place, I could sense him telling me, ‘I wanted to live for 17 more years (an astrologer had told that he would live that much time) in vain. That body was withering, and I was clinging to it. I am at peace now.’ He blessed me and smiled.

The "Smart" Dentist

In our dental clinic we have had a number of young fresh dental graduates working as assistants. They learn the clinical expertise gradually, gain confidence and then start their own clinic. Many of them would take guidance to set up their new clinic and some would insist we should do the inauguration.

The new dentist that came to work with us was always cheerful and had compliments for every body around. After about a year she told us she was trying to go abroad and requested for an experience certificate, with a forward date. Well, giving a certificate with a future date was not possible and she agreed to work till the proposed date to obtain the certificate.

On getting the experience certificate she told that she would stop working with us from the next day. To my friendly question as to her future plans she replied,'I haven't thought about it', which sounded strange.

After a few days one of our support staff got sick and she took leave. When she was absent for many days we called her up and she told that she won't be coming any more.

One day I got intuitive message from Kalima that the dentist had started her own clinic with our assistant as her staff. I was confused, how could it be, she was trying to go abroad. After two days we came to know that she had indeed started her own clinic. I was curious to know about the assistant. I didn't have to wait too long to know that it was true.

Mom in law and her soul’s presence

My mother in law had a very peaceful death on 17th of March. Another example of a person receiving Reiki having a smooth passing on! When we reached the house the next day, I was surprised that the house was totally free from her presence. The last time I met her a few months back, she had a far away look in her eyes. Now it was clear to me that she was in the process of detachment to those around her.

Baithak was kept on the third day and we all sang bhajans for the soul. It was a very soothing atmosphere and I could feel her presence. Towards the end of the ceremony, she stood in front of her photograph. She was looking so beautiful and calm. She looked at her children. Her gaze lasted a bit longer on my husband’s face and she gave him a special smile.

She looked at one of her children and had a question,’ What about --- lakhs?’ I was very puzzled by this, but later I came to know its significance.

I thought about her special smile for my husband. He was her favorite son. When he went ahead with his love marriage, she thought that I had stolen him from her. That resentment was always there at the background, even though she behaved cordially with me. From the soul’s realm, she could see things in the correct perspective now. The fact that her son loved a girl and could keep his promise meant that he had a character. He could love, because he had the habit of loving, which started from his love for his mother.

She could now see how much he loved and respected her. And also, how I have been continuing her work – of making him a good human being- by being with his decisions and making constructive comments.

Then one day, a large butterfly flew in front of my husband and sat on a plant in our garden. He was standing so close to it, but it did not move. He called me to come over and have a look. I went over, recognized his mother’s soul’s presence. ‘Let me touch it’, I told. He told not to. A butterfly will just fly off if somebody goes close to it, and it will never let any one touch it.

After a few seconds, I told that I would touch it, and very gently did. Surprise, it still sat there. Then I asked my husband to touch it, just to see the response, which would give me a clue whether she treated us same now. He too touched the butterfly and again, it sat still.

I had a doubt if the butterfly was dead, so that our touching didn’t make any difference. But after an hour, I was in the garden to get flowers and the moment I approached the plant, the butterfly just flew off! Yes, after giving me the message loud and clear.

When a person dies, people think that he/she is gone and that’s the end of it. They don’t realize that whatever the children think and do after their parents’ demise, they are watching them and if they do things that give pain to the parents, that pain can have an effect on their lives!

Calling of the parad Shivling

After spending three amazing days at Rameshwaram, we finished the final puja on the third day. On the walk back to the hotel, our friends wanted to check on the possibility of getting some tea. I was standing in front of a shop and on an idle glance, I felt a strong pull towards the tiny shivlings kept on display. They were silver colored, but somehow didn’t feel they were made of silver. I felt like buying one, but my husband was not with me at the time and I was not carrying any money. So I left it at that.

Later during the night, we were planning to go to our rooms after dinner. Suddenly I felt the tiny Shivling calling me. “Let’s walk to a shop, I want to show you something”, I told my husband and we reached the shop. It turned out that the shop keeper was from the same place as my husband and they struck an animated conversation.

The shop keeper told that those Shivlings were made of solidified mercury and only a select few know the process of purifying and solidifying mercury. He gave me the procedures to be followed before keeping a parad Shivling at home. I bought one and later searched the net for details on parad Shivling. The mercury is a liquid with mobility, it represents the mind which is always moving. Worshipping a shivling made of solidified mercury, one can gradually stabilize the mind.  Only those who have burned the sins of past lives are destined to own a parad Shivling. And it is supposed to have many amazing Godly properties!
