Sign from the Goddess

I came across a Devi mantra in May 2016. In two weeks' time I byhearted the mantra. During June we made a trip to Padubelle and stayed in a friend's house. He took us to a very ancient Durga temple neartby. When I set my eyes on the idol, I got the message that the mantra was from her, for her. Standing there, I chanted the mantra.

From Padubelle we went to Coorg to another friend's place. On the next day I woke up at 3 am, totally fresh. I sat on the bed and chanted the new Devi mantra for an hour. When I chanted the last words of the mantra, 'Jago Ma', it was with intense feeling from the depth of the heart , inviting  Ma to awaken in me.

Next day my friend requested a healing from me and I gave her a silent healing. While ending the healing, I chanted the  Devi mantra. She told me that she felt absolutely light and peaceful. Initially she felt heaviness in the chest, felt herself shrinking and shrinking, to become a point. Then the expansion started, she felt one with the Universe in the final stage. Her breathing quickened at first, then turned to deep and long breaths.

At the end she saw a female face, which looked divine. The eyes were large and powerful, and there was a big bindi on the forehead. I told her it was the face of Durga and I had chanted the mantra. She was so impressed that she wanted to learn the mantra.It was an indication that Devi was awakened in me and got projected onto my friend when I chanted the mantra. 

Breaking the ego

Vishu

Vishu is one of the major festivals of Kerala. It is celebrated on the first day of Malayalam month Medam, which usually falls on the 14th of April. When sun crosses the equator on the Malayalam month Medam, it is Astronomical New Year Day for the people of Kerala, which falls in April, mostly on the 14th. Vishu is a symbol of good luck, hope and prosperity.

Vishukkani

It is believed that at the Vishu pulari, (the dawn of the auspicious day of Vishu,) one should see the Vishukkani, as the first sight of the New Year, to have a prosperous and peaceful year. Vishukkani is a collection of several auspicious things such as grains, vegetables,fruits,lamp, flowers, coconut, gold, mirror , Ramayanam or Bhagavatgita (Hindu holi books) etc. set in a large uruli, a circular vessel (made of panchaloham - five metals), with the image of Lord Krishna, in the puja room. The golden color Konnappoo, (Cassia fistula) which usually blossoms during this time only, is the special flower used for this purpose.

Coconut, full or halves?

This year, while preparing Vishukkani on 13^th night, a thought occurred to me. Instead of breaking the coconut, as I sometimes do, I kept it intact. It symbolized the ego of my husband and me. I conversed with the Universe, ‘I am keeping this overnight. Please do whatever is destined for us’.

In the morning we saw the Vishukkani, and I was busy with other household works. After breakfast, I removed the Vishukkani from the puja room and to my surprise and joy, I saw two clean crack lines on the coconut. As if the Universe is cracking the ego of both of us!

Unique design

I have seen coconuts cracking open before too, but never in this fashion. Here are two clean, straight line cracks, symbolizing that the Universe has started working on us. For those who are on the spiritual path, it is a matter of great happiness and encouragement!

A spot on your forehead

Whenever I come in contact with westerners, they get fascinated with the bindi I have on my forehead. They ask about its significance and many of them get it as gift from me and they happily wear it too.

On the other hand, many Indian girls and ladies have stopped wearing bindis. I am curious about the reason for this and whenever I get an opportunity, I ask.

‘Oh, aunty, bindi doesn’t go well with the western dresses that we wear.’ May be… Or am I getting old fashioned?

Then I started seeing Indian dames in Indian dresses sans bindi. May be wearing bindi is now outdated. And why am I even bothered whether bindis are seen on their foreheads?

Intuitively, I have always felt that bindi had some connection with preserving energy. This is the sequence that happens in my life. First I sense things and I do it in my life. But if I have to ask others to do, I have to provide a logical reason. This is true even in my professional life as an Endodontist.

Energy leakage

The other day, after my morning meditation, I got the guidance to check the leakage of energy from the ajna chakra (third eye area) with and without the bindi. Both my husband and I are good at dowsing. I went to my husband with a pendulum and bindi and asked him to check my ajna chakra. He was working on the computer at the time. Just turning his chair towards me, he checked. Then, he stood up, ‘Oh oh, let me check again. This is making a tremendous difference.’

‘We will wear it now’

Yesterday (7-3-2016) two young girls came to me for Reiki healing. It was Shivratri and both were wearing Indian dresses, but no bindis. One girl’s (she looked like a skeleton) problem was constant tiredness, lack of energy and continuous head ache. For the last three weeks she was taking pain killer daily. When I checked her energy level, the pendulum showed no movement on any of the chakras, which explained her lack of energy. I gave her a Reiki healing and she got relief from her head ache.

Then I said to them, ‘Let me show you something,’ and brought a pendulum and bindi. I showed the difference in pendulum movement with and without bindi.

‘Already you are having shortage of energy, and whatever is there, is continuously leaking since you are not wearing a bindi.’

Both the girls said in unison, ‘From now on, we will wear the bindi. We never knew its significance.’

The health aspect

From a health point of view, the Bindi is worn between the eyebrows where the pineal gland lies. This is an important nerve center and applying sandalwood or ash keeps the nerves cool and so keeps you cool and conserves energy. In the past the Bindi was made from the yellow and red sandalwood, red and yellow turmeric, saffron, various flowers, ash, zinc oxide. All these had cooling properties in nature.

Traditionally, the area between the eyebrows (where the bindi is placed) is said to be the sixth chakra, ajna, the seat of "concealed wisdom". The bindi is said to retain energy and strengthen concentration.

The pineal gland is a light sensitive gland that produces the hormone melatonin which regulates sleep and waking up, and is also postulated to be the production site of the psychedelic dimethyltryptamine, the only known hallucinogen endogenous to the human body. Ajna's key issues involve balancing the higher and lower selves and trusting inner guidance. Ajna's inner aspect relates to the access of intuition. Mentally, Ajna deals with visual consciousness. Emotionally, Ajna deals with clarity on an intuitive level.

In South Asia, bindi is worn by women of all religious dispositions and is not restricted to religion or region.

A much deeper significance

From Vedic times, the bindi was created as a means to worship one's intellect. Therefore, it was used by both men and women. Worship of the intellect was to ensure that thoughts, speech, actions, habits and ultimately one's character becomes pure. A strong intellect can help one to make noble decisions in life, be able to stand up to challenges in life with courage, and recognize and welcome good thoughts in life. The belief was that on this a strong individual, a strong family and strong society can be formed. Red represents honor, love and prosperity; hence it was worn to symbolize these aspects.

You have the veto power

Those who are determined to do, they do. Those who don’t want to do from their core, they find millions of reasons for not doing. I have found this very true in innumerable situations.

The story that made a deep impact

During my childhood, one story left a deep mark on my mind. In a kingdom, as the corruption went high, the Gods decided to create drought there for seven years. One year of drought passed and the people were suffering. One day, Lord Shiva and goddess Parvati in disguise, were traveling through this kingdom. They saw one farmer walking through his field, cleaning and oiling his plough. Lord Shiva got curious and asked him, ‘Your royal astrologer has told that there will be drought for seven years and only one year has passed. You won’t be able to do cultivation till rains come. So why are you doing this?’

The farmer replied, ‘Yes, that is true. But I have to do my duty. If I become lazy and don’t take care of my tools, when the rain comes, I won’t be able to put in my best effort immediately.’

The story goes that Lord Shiva was very pleased with the farmer’s answer and blessed the place with immediate rain.

The role of horoscope

I come from Kerala, where we have many awesome astrologers. I know that my father’s ( he himself had some knowledge of astrology) horoscope was written by a famous astrologer and every major event in his life happened at the exact time it was written. Like the post graduation he did in his forties and his car accident that happened when I was a teenager.

Later I realized from personal experiences that what the astrologer predicts is a possibility depending on the planetary positions and the mental/emotional/spiritual status of the person at that particular time. If he/she changes his outlook on life and elevates his/her inner level, they cease to be helpless victims of fate.

Another lease of life

One of my relatives did not believe in astrology and refused to get the horoscope matching checked before his arranged marriage. After his marriage his mother got it done any way and found that the girl’s horoscope predicted premature death of her husband. The husband indeed got a fatal disease, and his devoted wife was instrumental in getting him timely treatment and they are in their sixties now.

Sade Satti for the couple

Sade Satti is a very dreadful word for the common masses. When Saturn transits through the 12th, 1st, and 2nd house from the natal moon (where one's Moon is placed in the birth chart), it is termed Sade Satti. This is  a period with many challenges.

Once during a train journey, I came across this lovely lady in her late thirties. She was a Christian and she had a love marriage with a Hindu boy. His mother got her horoscope done and when the couple’s horoscopes were matched, they realized that both of them would be having Sade Satti at the same time, which will lead to their separation. Luckily it so happened that  before that period started, they both learned Pranic healing.

With moist eyes, she told me, ’Pranic healing  helped us to tide over the situation and we are now happy to be together with our toddlers.’

Nothing is written on the rock

Yes, nothing is written on the rock. But our belief that it is so will definitely make us puppets in the hands of fate. The strongest negative influence on our lives is our limiting beliefs.

You have the veto power

Every thing around has power, including the planetary positions. But your (jeevatma) power is more than that and the Universal energy’s (Paramatma) power can over rule any other influence. So we can exercise our power and by connecting with the Universal energy (by meditation, healing techniques or others), it can still be augmented, and we can  have a  happier and peaceful life.

Sarkara Devi's intense vibrrations

On 19th January 2016, as we visited Sarkara temple and were praying, I saw the idol covered with sandal paste, in its full glory. I recalled that since my childhood time I had been visiting the temple, and I had always seen the idol covered with sandal paste. The thought just crossed my mind whether at any time the idol will be without any covering. I slowly did the circumambulation and reached the front far end. To my surprise, I couldn't see the idol. By this time a lot of lamps had been lit outside the sanctum sanctorum   and it was totally dark in the area of the idol. I was totally confused and thought that they must have put a black curtain  in front of the idol. I walked closer and to my surprise, saw the idol without the sandal paste. The idol was made of black stone and there was this intense vibrations coming from the idol towards me. It was a very unique experience. I prayed to her,' Just make me your instrument and bless me to do whatever I am supposed to do in this world'. Then we got to attend the special navagraha puja as it was  a Tuesday.

During the drive back, I noticed a tree with 'Agasthi' flower. I remembered that my mom used to make agasthi flower thoran and suddenly felt a longing to eat it.

 On the way we decided to visit my aunt. We had tea with her and spent some nice loving time with her. When we were about to leave, She brought a plastic cover with something inside it and told me, 'I had plucked these today, you take it and make sabzi. I looked inside and almost shrieked with joy, it had agasthi flowers inside.  Lord Krishna's words reverberated in my head, 'You surrender unto me and I will fulfill even your smallest wishes '. It was a divine experience for me..... 

Sago khichdi for Monday

I was observing the solah somavar wherein I was to take only fruits, tea and milk through the day, with sago (sabudana) khichdi for lunch for 16 Mondays. On one Monday during this period, we were driving down from Bangalore to Belgaum. I had a banana and tea for breakfast and we were supposed to reach Belgaum by lunch time.

Whenever we come back after our trips, we have veg pulao in a small joint near our house. We have not seen sabudana khichdi being served there, or in any of the hotels in Belgaum.

As we were nearing Belgaum, my husband asked me, ‘What will you have for lunch?  Sabudana vada may be available in our usual place, shall I get you that?’

Reluctantly I told yes. As we were nearing Belgaum, a vehicle passed in front of us, which had Lord Shiva’s picture at the back. I prayed to him, saying, ‘Please make sabudana khichdi available for today’s lunch.’

When my husband went to get the lunch for us I requested him to ask for sabudana khichdi before buying sabudana vada. To my satisfaction and great surprise for my husband, sabudana khichdi was indeed available on that day!

Multiple messages in a day

When one is in a spiritual path, the journey is not always in the same pace. There may be many lessons at one time, and then there is a quiescent period when we have to assimilate and incorporate the lessons learned.

Recently I have been on a speedy journey, too many things coming my way and there was a sort of self doubt and the thought whether I am having enough support from the Universe, and also, if I am on the right path.

On 15- 11- 15 (look at the numbers), during my sleep, thrice I was shown a series of numbers, with the instruction to remember them and to write them down on waking up. In half awake state I repeated the numbers many times in my mind and on waking up, wrote them down. The numbers were 111, 157, 531, 1. I was curious what it meant.

I wrote down the alphabets represented by the numbers and tried to see whether they made any sense. It was an exercise in vain. Then I searched for the meaning of those numbers. And there I got the message, which answered my thoughts that were troubling me recently.

111

Number 111 is a powerful number of manifesting and manifestation. Number 111 symbolizes the principles of spiritual awakening and enlightenment, high energy,

inspiration and intuition, self-expression and sensitivity.  It is a message that the Universe is very aware of your persistent thoughts and ideas as these are manifesting quickly into your reality.

111 also encourages you to assist and inspire the human race via your natural abilities, relying upon your inner-wisdom and intuition to guide you.  Be an inspirational guiding light to bring illumination to others and to help raise spiritual awareness. Trust that the Universe support you in your ‘lightwork’.

157

157 is a message that the choices and decisions you have made and the changes you are contemplating and undertaking are very positive and will be of benefit to you in many ways.  Your positive thoughts, beliefs and optimism will manifest great success, happiness and fulfilment in your life.  Keep up the great work you have been doing, and stay happy and optimistic within as this will be reflected in your life.

531

531 is a message from the Ascended Masters that you are fully supported and encouraged to make the necessary life changes that will bring you into alignment with your life purpose and soul mission.  Give any fears or feelings of anxiety to the Universe for healing and transmutation, and have courage and confidence that all is going according to the Divine plan.

531 suggests that your thoughts, feelings and impressions are being infused with Divine guidance, and you are being aided and assisted with the life choices and changes you are making.  Trust that these changes are for your highest good and are in-line with your soul purpose.  You are surrounded with love and blessings.

531 can also suggest that a new door will open for you soon.  Trust in the process of life.  Do not worry about not knowing what is coming up next for you because when that door opens, you will KNOW that it is the right one for you. Be free to be yourself and express your truths.

Number 1 is a reminder that we are all connected.  It also encourages you to take up challenges with total faith and trust in yourself and the Universal Energies.

The light coming on

In the morning while I was driving the car, suddenly the cabin light came on and after a few seconds, it switched off by itself. It has never happened before or after that.  I remarked to my husband, it is giving some message to me. Now I know that it was an indication that the Universal forces are with me in my endeavors.

The falling picture stand

While doing my routine crystal gazing, I saw a dark face. I was not sure whose it was, then thought it must be Tirupathi Balaji. So I was noting it down on the calendar, when one of the picture stands on the adjacent table fell down, on the table itself. I lifted it up and when I saw the face, realized that this was what I saw on the crystal. It was Shri Uvassagarham Parshwanath. Lord Parshvanath preceded Lord Mohair by 25O years.

Even during the period of Bhagavan Mahavir the faith and devotion for Bhagavan Parshvanath was wide spread. The masses strongly believed that remembering the name of Bhagavan Parshvanath was the panacea for all troubles as well as the means of success. This was the reason that in Bhagavan Mahavir’s time Bhagavan Parshvanath was popularly known as "Purushadaniya".

So that was one special day when I got several messages that cleared many doubts.
